Rotor die-casting

Whether you use horizontal or vertical die-casting machines, when it comes to rotor die-casting lubrication quality is essential. A silicon-free alloy, which is not so smooth, is used to produce rotors. The use of liquid lubricants significantly increases this problem, as it requires long drying stages, which reduce the temperature of the dies.

Using the DRY LUB SYSTEM promotes both quality and productivity. It makes aluminium smoother, it eliminates the drying stage and reduces porosity, thus improving electrical qualities. These benefits make the DLS the best tool for your production needs.

Strengths

Strengths

  • Improved alloy smoothness

  • Reduced porosity

  • Increased productivity

  • Reduced waste

  • Long-lasting dies

How the DRY LUB SYSTEM works

The Dry Lub System technology can be applied to horizontal and vertical rotary-table die-casting machines. With the Dry Lub System, a thin layer of lubricant wax is applied, which melts when in contact with the dies. This way, you considerably increase the speed of the injected aluminum, reduce cycle times and keep the temperature of the dies constant.

Our clients can confirm that the Dry Lub System ensures excellent production continuity, preventing injection capillaries from breaking. They have also noticed less porosity in the rotors, which improves electrical qualities. The small amount of lubricating wax used in the Dry Lub System allows you to eliminate oil mist and waste water and reduce the pollution produced by the melting furnaces when recycling the risers.

Can Rotomatic vertical die-casting machines increase productivity as well?2019-11-06T16:21:24+01:00

In this case, production times depend on the machine itself. You can obtain an increase, but not a significant one. What you certainly can obtain is a more consistent production, higher quality and a drastic reduction in waste.

How much do these tests cost?2019-11-06T16:20:51+01:00

During the initial stage, tests are on us.

Can all this be tested?2019-11-06T16:19:38+01:00

Tests on horizontal machines can be carried out manually and are fairly reliable. Rotomatic machines require only automatic tests though.

Can production be started immediately if you use the DLS?2019-11-06T15:48:28+01:00

With our technology, you can start production immediately without waste, which is ensured even after machine downtime.

Can you make rotors both with open and closed slots?2019-11-06T15:49:37+01:00

Yes, of course. When it comes to rotors with a closed slot, the die where the reed valve is inserted is often not lubricated. Unlike the ones with an open slot, which require a minimum amount of lubricant.

How is productivity increased?2019-11-06T15:41:40+01:00

The drying stage is essential for this type of production and it takes a long time. Our clients have increased their productivity by 10 to 30%, depending on the type of rotor produced.

How do the dies last longer?2019-11-06T15:51:38+01:00

Because we have eliminated the thermal shocks that occur when lubricating with water and the subsequent drying stage.

How are injection capillaries lubricated?2019-11-13T14:16:01+01:00

Capillary lubrication is one of the DLS’ strengths. The chemical and physical properties of the hot-melt powder ensure excellent penetration into the injection area, thus reducing capillary breakage drastically.

Can the Dry Lub System be applied to any die-casting machine?2019-11-06T16:01:31+01:00

Yes. The DLS can be installed on three-plate horizontal and Rotomatic vertical die-casting machines. The type of installation is different, as traditional horizontal die-casting machines require the use of moving lubricant systems, unlike Rotomatic ones, which use fixed lubrications systems.
